Introducing Controlled Data Sharing

A simpler way to give stakeholders access to the information they already rely on.
Maritime reporting has traditionally been built around delivery. A request comes in, a report is prepared, and the information is sent, often as an Excel file, before being reviewed again on the receiving end. The process works, but it comes with friction. Each report creates another version of the same data, handled manually and shared separately.
Over time, this adds up. Small inconsistencies appear, updates are delayed, and crews and shore teams spend more time preparing and checking reports than actually using the data.
A different way to approach reporting
The challenge is not the lack of data, but how it is shared. When information is distributed through individual reports, stakeholders end up working from separate snapshots. As reporting requirements grow, so does the workload needed to maintain them.
With our new feature called Controlled Data Sharing, the approach shifts from sending data to giving access to it.
Instead of distributing multiple reports, operational data can be made available in real time through controlled, role-based access. Stakeholders see the information they need directly, without relying on separate report deliveries.
What this means in practice
The change is most visible in day-to-day operations. Recurring reports require less manual preparation, because the data is already structured and accessible. At the same time, consistency improves, since everyone is working from the same source rather than different files.
What was previously handled through email chains and attachments becomes a shared view of operations.
A small shift with real impact
Controlled Data Sharing does not remove reporting requirements, but it reduces how much of that work needs to be done manually. By moving from report distribution to shared access, it simplifies collaboration and reduces duplication. The result is a more efficient workflow—where less time is spent managing reports, and more time can be spent acting on the data.
